Summer Patient Care Internships for Gap Year and Medical Students

The Tankersley Clinic will be taking applications for the 2024 Summer Internship beginning Jan 1, 2024.  This is a 3-month Jun-Aug internship typically for gap year students or medical students between their first and second year of medical school.  Upcoming seniors who have successfully completed the Winter Internship will also be considered. Time commitment can be tailored to 3-5 days per week.  Any weekly hours worked over 20 hours are paid. Opportunities include tailored experiences in research, patient care, and practice management under the direct supervision of our board-certified Allergist/Immunologist, Dr. Tankersley.  This is a working internship, not a shadowing experience.

Please include your resume, one letter of recommendation from your school faculty and available dates to start/finish based off your school schedule and any days you are not available over your summer break. Current influenza and Covid vaccination are required.  The intern is responsible for their own housing, food and transportation to both our offices.

Winter Internships for Pre-Med & Gap-Year Students

Summer Patient Care Internships for Gap Year and Medical Students

 Our Winter Internship is an unpaid internship for premed juniors and seniors in college.  It begins each December during the winter college break. The start and stop date are dependent upon the intern's college winter break.  The Tankersley Clinic will be taking applications for the 2024-25 Winter Internship beginning Sep 1, 2024 with a deadline of Friday Oct 18, 2024.  The selection will be announced Friday Nov 1, 2024.  Current influenza and Covid vaccination are required.  The intern is responsible for their own housing, food and transportation to both our offices.


For Winter 2024-25, time commitment is Mon-Fri 7:45-4:30. Opportunities include tailored experiences in research, patient care, and practice management under the direct supervision of our board-certified Allergist/Immunologist, Dr. Tankersley.  Successful completion of the Winter Internship is advantageous to be considered for the Summer Internship typically reserved for medical students.

Summer Healthcare Administration Internships for Undergraduate Business Majors

Summer Healthcare Administration Internships for Undergraduate Business Majors

The Tankersley Clinic will be taking applications for the 2024 Summer Internship beginning Jan 1, 2024.   This is a 3-month, Jun-Aug, internship working at our front desk Mon-Thurs for undergraduate business majors in their junior or senior year desiring to pursue a career in healthcare administration.  Fridays involve interacting with insurance carriers on claim disputes and contacting patients with account balances. Time commitment can be tailored to 3-5 days per week. Any weekly hours worked over 20 hours are paid. Opportunities include tailored experiences in clinic management, coding, billing, collections, and practice management.  This is a working internship, not a shadowing experience.
